Minkyung (she/her) is an emerging Korean-Canadian artist based in NY and Seoul, South Korea. Alongside her artistic practice, she works as an Art Director in New York City, where she earned an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Graphic Design and Art Direction on the Netflix docuseries Principles of Pleasure.

Her practice reveals the inherent colors and textures of nature through site-specific organic materials. By distilling elements that often pass unnoticed—like the quiet “white noise” of the natural world—she seeks to awaken human senses that are fading in contemporary life.

Her work begins in the field, walking and gathering materials by hand, then breaking, sifting, and reassembling them. This process engages touch, sight, smell, and hearing over time, transforming making into both an ecological practice and a sensory archive.

As part of her commitment to sustainability, she is actively experimenting with natural raw materials and has contributed her pigments to the Pratt Institute Foundations Lab.

Minkyung holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Rhode Island School of Design and has exhibited her work internationally, including at RISD, AYLO, ANNY Fest, CADAF, and SOI (NYC), as well as at Gallery Ji-ha, Toeun (Korea), and CERAP (Spain).
